Resources that can help Parents, Students and Educators
In my EDU315 class, I have learned several ways to include technology in a classroom to enable students' learning and allow for a greater understanding of the curriculum in the classroom. Below are several resources I have found to be helpful for parents, educators and students.

For Parents:
Edmodo is a great tool to communicate with your child's educators. This can be used as a supplement or along with the standard email. Teachers will set up the Edmodo class and parents will be invited into it to access it.

PBSkids.org is a website that is interactive and has educational games for children to play. It is free and easy to navigate .

Parents can use twitter as a form of information from a teacher if their child's teacher uses twitter. Here teachers can tweet homework for the night, any important news, and share any information he/she feels parents need to find out.

For Educators:
Screencastiomatic is a website that allows users to record the screen they are using. This is a great way to create a tutorial to share with students and parents!
Similar to Edmodo, Class Dojo is another option that allows for teachers to create a classroom with their current students. This allows for teachers to communicate with students as well as their parents.

Voice Thread is a website that allows users to share pictures with the ability to comment on it with voice, drawing, video and text. This is a great tool to use for students to share information about themselves at the beginning of the school year, or to share information they learned about a project!
QR Codes allow for several different learning opportunities depending on how the teacher decides to apply it in the classroom. Make the classroom fun and interactive by sending the students on a scavenger hunt through by scanning QR codes or pair students by having them scan QR codes and do what is says (solve an equation).

Edmodo is a great tool to use in the classroom because it allows for teachers to stay in communication with students and parents. Teachers can use Edmodo to share homework with the class. The students are able to communicate with each other on here as well.

For Students:
Kahoot! is a website that allows users to create a quiz that is shared with the class through a projector. Students can use Kahoot! to present topics to their classmates for review or to present a topic. This is a great interactive way to work with technology in the classroom

Google is a basic way for students to research information for projects. Students can also create a google account which allows them to access google docs and google slides, which allows students to work together on the same project at the same time, even if they are not able to meet. They can work together on their own computers at their own convenience.

Powtoon allows educators to teach students how to do other forms of assessment. Instead of written tests, educators can allow students to create a cartoon or video about a unit to share what they've learned!
